a muscular workout. Based on Joseph Pilates' principles and Stephanie Herman's
Conscious Movement techniques, Muscle Ballet®
incorporates a cardiovascular workout that improves body/mind
coordination and helps participants achieve a longer, leaner,

Weight Training In contrast to Nike's slogan "Just do it", Stephanie urges you to "Find it, Feel it, and Move it," emphasizing technique over effort. MBWT translates that principle into a three-dimensional and three-level approach. In the first level, Stephanie goes beyond Pilates' principles with her mat workout, designed to help clients with muscle isolation, skeletal alignment and fine muscle control. In the next level, Stephanie teaches you to use standard gym equipment like Cybex, Kaiser, Nautilus and LifeFitness with a therapeutically choreographed approach. Finally, movements are choreographed with the use of gym equipment to further hone muscle isolation, control and balanced development. FITNESS THROUGH CONSCIOUS MOVEMENT® The building block of the EdD series, FTCM introduces breathing and Pilates techniques, alignment, balance, choreographed sequences and Stephanie's special metaphors for an effective strengthening and lengthening workout. FTCM is therapeutically designed to focus on the often neglected supporting muscles like the psoas, VMO, and hamstring-buttock connection. The beat builds as Conscious Movement principles are woven into simple dance sequences. At the introductory level, Stephanie builds simple choreography step-by-step, pulling from a vocabulary of moves designed to work all muscle groups while groving your way Bob Fosse and Alvin Ailey. Moving up, down, left and right, the jazzy pulse of Esprit de Danse® will turn even the most reluctant into a dancer. EdD is simple enough for novices to folow, yet challenging for even the most jaded aerobicizer. Perfect after any of the above classes, or as a stand-alone workout, Stretch and Feel It® features innovative, safe, deep stretches based on Pilates and yoga that will make you feel several inches taller and lighter! |
